Happy February friends! In the past month, I started my long term sub job in a first grade class at the same elementary school I've been at. The kids in this class have been shuffled around quite a bit because there were too many first graders a new class was formed and had subs until mid-October when the new teacher was hired (the admin didn't realize their newest hire was six months preggers) so long story short, I have been asked by the principal to remain with this class through the end of the school year to provide them with some stability. It's a good thing because it shows the administration has faith in me and thinks highly of me, but this is a difficult group on the best days. I have about four kiddos who test my patience every day, so needless to say I was ready for our ice day off today even though we didn't get any snow :)
In other news, my brother and sister-in-law and nephew moved down to Houston a few weeks ago because my brother got a new job and I'm super excited that I am now only ten minutes from my adorable little nephew! We just celebrated his first birthday at a local park and he was so cute digging into his little cupcake and opening his presents. While we were at the park, Tyler was starting to take some wobble steps with a little help, but yesterday he took his first solo steps!

Other exciting news is that Matt just got another promotion at work. I'm so proud of how hard he works and its finally starting to pay off! He is now an area supervisor and an official key holder. He seems to be on the fast track being that he is on his second promotion in less than two years and yay for a pay raise!
Next month should be a blast. For my Spring Break Matthew and I are going out to San Jose to see my lovely Cali couple Amanda and Jim. They are already planning lots of fun stuff for us to do and I'm so excited to spend time with my bestie and meet my newest puppy nephew, Harry! Later that same week, my dear friend Jennifer is getting married in the big D and I am so happy for her and ready for her fabulous day! I am so ready for fun!
